Are You Following God Yet?
After a long break from writing of any kind, I find myself with new things to say. As a person who just writes for fun its not uncommon to get bored with the topics or just lose interest here and there but now I have something to say that I feel has made a difference in my life. The topic is Christianity and I can without a doubt say God has made a lot happen for me and I hope he can for you as well.
Though I have attender religious services all my life it was the attendance at a Christian college that made me stop and take notice of myself and what I was becoming, I quickly grew to despise my image and knew I had to make a change.
The pathway of life,
A journey to be pondered.
Where will it take you,
haven't you wondered?
Through places bright and vibrant,
maybe to a palace of gold.
Does your life in your imagination,
ever unfold?
A lawyer, a doctor,
a person of great power.
Maybe someone not so big,
just a citizen paid by the hour.
Doesn't it make your mind race,
to ponder life and wonder where you, it will take.
It flashes before our eyes, like a rocket at lightning speed,
running, dancing fleeting away before we can be all we can be.
So be sure to make it count,
be who you are.
Set your wishes high,
amongst the stars.
The hour of midnight grows near as I type away at my papers. The long scrolls of endless words that will determine my fate in college. The wonder seeps into my mind as if to question what importance all this holds to my career ahead. As I always do, I block these thoughts out and continue typing. The music in my headphones keeps me going. Sounds of days long gone. The deep, soulful vocal stylings of Dorsey Burnette and the more upbeat sounds of Jay and the Americans get me through each night. I have now substituted my nights as my days as I find working more peaceful like that, and I sleep like a rock during the day and that is something
The wind blew as if to tell me something but it's message I must have missed.
The front porch swing drifted ever so gently as the front porch light dimly lit the faces.
The world's problems are discussed here and our likes and fears,
our regrets and hopes in the coming years.
Mississippi born, hoping to escape but would I only want to come back some day?
Would I run and flee and then see,
What I missed and realize everything was in Mississippi?
The porch lights glistened a glow as if under them a million stories were told
I rocked in the chair and cousin glanced at the night sky.
The Dog barked in the yard as deer pranced in the trees.

The Problems With Our Society
As a psychology major, I enjoy looking at the human mind but even more I take a great deal of joy in studying sociology and how humans interact. We are all in this big world together and some studies say we are more connected than ever, and I'd tend to agree. I bet right now if I wanted to in some way, shape, form or fashion I could message someone in China. We could talk about lifestyle differences and food and so on etc... but that is just it. I can message someone across the world but can I reach out in my neighborhood and by the end of the day have 3 new friends. I seriously hope I could but in all reality it likely would not happen.
What is love?
A wish upon a star above.
To meet someone on the street and smile,
but that smile last more than a while.
A hand to hold, a caring heart,
someone who misses you when you are apart.
What is love?
Do I know, do you know,
has the true meaning of love been told?
Is it forever, is it brief,
who will it be, for so many people one may meet.
Will love last a lifetime,
or just a while?
Is it fleeting, or to stay?
Can love be brief and drift away?
The questions that can be asked
and though some may be true
Love, is only what love is to you.
Someone special, someone kind,
a dear partner that never leaves the mind.
A friend till the end,
What wonder may come from the still of the night?
what gave some ideas, gave others fright.
The magic of the stillness, the delight of the moon.
Moonbeams dancing to a solemn tune.
A book one bright mind may write, a play one may act.
Some will simply sleep, as the night goes quickly past.
A lonely soul may spend the whole of the darkness alone.
Ideas of great depth may enter their mind, brilliance so creative,
it won't be allowed in this lifetime.
The wind sails across a forbidden park too evil now for one to sit for a spell
and even more evil by those, that in it dwell.
For you see it is the night, where darkness lay and those that wander

Johnny and the Real Love
Johnny glanced at his phone. He had text Julia again and still no reply. This was the second time today and though they had talked some a few days earlier, Johnny just didn't think she cared much for him. Johnny thought about sending another text but he figured it would seem creepy and besides if she don't like him then whats the point. Johnny was torn because he hated being lonely but he wanted t be with someone who actually liked him for who he was.
Johnny Sellers was a tall guy, 18 years old and somewhat shy, he had friends but it was those quaint, loner types that other shy people pick up in school. He knew good and well that af

Meant to Be - Poem
Look at all of these people
Their innumerable mistakes
Every word and every action
Makes another's heart ache
Hands that were meant to be healing are hurting
Eyes that were meant to see beauty see flaws
Hearts that were meant to be beating are breaking
And minds that were meant to be thinking are not
They only consider the whole picture
To state how insignificant their part is
Saying "If I did my best to shine out
Then who would even notice it?"
So they push...
And they pull...
'Cause they say no one...
In this whole world...
Can make all the difference
Against odds so insurmountable...
Better to take all that you can
Then to give it all
Just a small town guy who spends too much time writing and staying lost in my imagination, though college takes up around 90 percent of my free time I still listen to tons of music and enjoy a lot of indie films. Mississippi born with California dreams. Music is my life.

Its been a while but I just wanted to say Life can be a confusing place. I'm sure a lot of you out there are graduating high school and college as well. Don't get beat down by the confusion, rather grab life like its some new opportunity and go where you feel led. You wont accomplish ANYTHING by sitting still and waiting on it. To all of you congrats on your graduation, this is a big deal and I hope you all make wonderful accomplishments in life. Hang in there.
Upon leaving some time ago I was very caught up in college and still am. I can say it is going for the most part well and I hope to be done soon enough. Today I find the need to talk about something very important and that is the social side of our society. have you figured out that it is broken yet? Well I have and I wanna tell you what I've been doing to change it for me at least. So friends are actually pretty hard to come by and in today's time with social media and all we basically just pick and choose who to follow but are we really connecting? The answer is complicated but NO. In my own personal research and social outings, I find
